Rosemary Ruth (Looschen) Cox died February 6 of pneumonia at her home in Costa Mesa. She was born April 6, 1928 to Margaret (Murphy) and Paul Looschen. She was the youngest of 3 children and was raised with her two older brothers, Mark and Paul, in Nebraska until she turned eighteen. After she graduated from high school, she bravely took the train to Los Angeles to go to college and see the world beyond Nebraska. She met Paul Cox at L.A. City College who she married in 1948. They eventually settled in Orange County, California and had six children. After raising her children, she returned to college getting her L.V.N., Psych Tech and eventually her R.N. degree. Rosemary worked in the field of children’s’ psychiatry at Humana Hospital for several years before retiring. She loved children who she enchanted with her animated story telling and creative play. She was brilliant, elegant, a moving writer of poetry and a cultivator of beautiful flowers. She is survived by daughter, Belinda (Rod) Cox Lafferty and grandsons Jason and Ryan (Lacey), daughter, Rosemarie Cox, daughter, Martha (Scott) Cox Hilliard, and granddaughters, Rachel and Alissa, son, Dennis (Kylie) Cox and granddaughters, Jessica and Jamie, daughter, Mary Cox Budnack and grandson, Bradley, grandson Stephen (Lisa) Cox and great-granddaughter, Kendall, and granddaughter Julianne Cox. Sadly, she will miss the birth of her second great-grand child, Logan Christopher Lafferty, due June 2. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and son, David. The funeral mass is Monday, February 14th at 10:00 am at St John the Baptist Church in Costa Mesa California.
