Thurston Middle School’s fourth annual Out on the Town fundraiser was a huge success, netting more than $7,100 for the school’s PTA.

Christy Addis and Stacy Gavin did an outstanding job of coordinating this popular event, which took place March 16.

More than 130 parents and teachers joined together in a progressive evening of food, drink and fun at top local restaurants. A warm welcome and generous hosting of appetizers and beverages was first provided by Lumberyard, Nick’s Laguna, Nirvana Grille, Sundried Tomato, Tommy Bahamas and Nirvana Grille. All of the evening’s participants were split up into smaller groups of 20, with each visiting two different Laguna fine establishments.

The final stop for all the guests was Romeo Cucina, which hosted a fabulous pizza and pasta buffet, with Zinc Cafe providing delicious desserts. As is the tradition at past Out on the Town parties, the guests concluded the evening with hours of dancing to a popular deejay. Many parents praised the organizers, remarking how enjoyable it was to socialize with new and old friends while helping to fund a worthwhile and common cause. The Thurston PTA is most grateful to each and every restaurant that participated in this sold out event.
