Woman in critical condition after being hit outside crosswalk

COSTA MESA — A Santa Ana woman was in critical condition after a white luxury sedan hit her Sunday morning in a suspected drunk-driving case, police said.

Katushka Fischmann, 21, was hit about 1:45 a.m. by a white, four-door Mercedes-Benz going northbound as she was walking near a crosswalk at Bristol Street and Randolph Avenue, police said in a Costa Mesa police news release. She suffered major head injuries and was taken to Western Medical Center's trauma center in Santa Ana.

Bonnie Yee, 34, of Tustin, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of felony DUI. She was later released on bail.
