Come seeking pirates and treasure, have ye?

Ye brave young mateys are in for some adventure on the high seas as pirates descend on Newport Beach next week.

The Balboa Branch library is celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14 with a show, crafts, refreshments and lots of pirate talk.

Performer Christopher Yates will start the celebration with a pirate show that includes a swashbuckling mix of juggling, music and storytelling.

The event is for elementary-level students at the Balboa Branch, 100 E. Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach.
