Roger Joseph Flaherty

Roger Joseph Flaherty, May 30, 1958 - October 29, 2011, resident of Newport Beach, California; Roger passed away unexpectedly at home in Newport Beach. Roger was born in San Fernando Valley, CA and raised in Santa Ana Heights, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School and attended Orange Coast College. Roger was a very talented Tile and Stone Mason and over the years has designed and built many unique and beautiful projects for his many thankful clients.
He was one of 15 children born to the late John Patrick and Mary Cecilia Flaherty. Roger will forever be remembered by his loving daughter Somer, his long-time companion Nanette Sutherland, his devoted brothers John, Michael, Patrick, Kevin and Brian and his loving sisters Maureen, Kathleen, Patricia, Judy, Theresa, Eileen, Anne, Virginia and Loretta along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Roger loved watching the sunset and the ocean, laughing, inventing things, being with his family and having fun with friends.
Roger touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and his trademark sense of humor. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Monday November 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Saint Joachim Church, 1964 Orange Ave, Costa Mesa, CA. There will be a celebration of Roger’s life after the memorial service. The time and location of the celebration will be announced at the memorial service.
