Painting stolen at Kush before Art Walk

Share

Last Thursday’s Art Walk didn’t turn out as expected for Kush Fine Art, which reported a man took off with a $7,500 painting from the gallery.

Gallery Director Polina Hryn said that about 5:30 p.m. a man came into the gallery and stole a large Vladmir Kush painting that was propped up against a wall.

When he walked in, he looked around to make sure no one was watching and grabbed it and walked down the street, she said. The whole incident took about 10 seconds.

The incident was caught on the gallery’s security cameras. The footage is being looked at and will hopefully help police with their investigation.

Hryn said police want to wait to release a description of the suspect until the tapes have been evaluated.

The gallery has never been robbed before, according to Hryn.

The stolen painting is numbered and can be tracked.
