Shots fired at Costa Mesa home

Costa Mesa police are investigating a shooting in which a bullet entered an inhabited residence in the southwest part of the city.

One of the shots fired entered the front window of a home in the 500 block of Wilson Street about 5 a.m. Tuesday, although no one was injured, police said.

A lowered white sedan may have been involved in the shooting, according to police.

At the same time, police received reports of a man knocking on doors, saying he was being chased in the 2200 block of Anaheim Avenue, about a half a mile away. The man was never found.

Police were not certain the two events were related.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Det. Rob Hanson at (714) 754-5162.
