Shots fired at Costa Mesa home

Costa Mesa police are investigating a shooting in which a bullet entered an inhabited residence in the southwest part of the city.

One of the shots fired entered the front window of a home in the 500 block of Wilson Street about 5 a.m. Tuesday, although no one was injured, police said.

A lowered white sedan may have been involved in the shooting, according to police.

At the same time, police received reports of a man knocking on doors, saying he was being chased in the 2200 block of Anaheim Avenue, about a half a mile away. The man was never found.

Police were not certain the two events were related.
