Kenneth Samuel Addis was born in Pasadena Calif. on Sept 23, 1943 to Mildred and Sam Addis and went to be with the Lord April 1, 2012. Ken spent summers and weekends in Newport Beach from 1945 to 1957 and after moving to the beach, graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1961. Kenny was well-known around the Harbor after spending 40 years working on the fuel docks on Balboa Island. Ken was a devout Christian who enjoyed serving as an usher at Calvary Chapel for many years and was loved not only by his family, but all who knew him. Ken and his family moved to Durant, Oklahoma in 2004 where he enjoyed his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Amy, Carrie, and Lauren and six grandchildren, as well as his sister Sandy and brother Tom.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, April 19 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, 3800 South Fairview Street in Santa Ana. In honor of Kenny, his family would love to see his friends in the Hawaiian Shirts he so loved to wear.
