Costa Mesa hires interim city clerk

Costa Mesa City Hall has hired an interim city clerk.

Green previously served as Stanton’s clerk. She worked that Orange County city for 12 years before being laid off in 2011.

She has also worked in several state lawmakers’ offices.

Green will earn $57 an hour, equating to about $118,000 annually, and will serve indefinitely.

She is filling in while City Clerk Julie Folcik remains on paid administrative leave.

Folcik was suspended earlier this year after city officials said she failed to meet a paperwork filing deadline that would have placed the city’s proposed charter on the June 5 election ballot.
