Motorcyclist killed in Huntington Beach

A Huntington Beach man was killed Monday after his motorcycle collided with a Lexus on Hamilton Avenue west of Brookhurst Street, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The 40-year-old man's black and white 2011 Triumph Bonneville T100 collided with the gray 2011 Lexus CT200h sedan, which was being driven by a 33-year-old Fountain Valley woman, at about 4:20 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

The man, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, sustained severe injuries. He was treated at the scene, then transferred to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he died, the release said.

The woman was cooperative with police and was not cited nor arrested, but the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who saw the accident or knows what led to it is asked to contact Officer Bob Barr at (714) 536-5666.
