Michele Hope Fletcher Vaughan
10/13/1949-08/17/2012

Michele Hope Fletcher Vaughan was born on October 13, 1949 in Calgary, Alberta Canada. She moved to the Los Angeles area when she was 10-years-old. Remaining in the LA area, she attended North Hollywood High.

In 1975 Michele married Charles Vaughan. Together with Charles, she raised three children in Newport Beach, California.

Michele was a woman with a huge heart for her husband and her children. She traveled all over the state to watch her children play various sports. Michele also traveled the world with her husband and family. While she enjoyed visiting many places, Michele found that her most exciting adventures were in Africa, where she traveled five times and always hoped to return.

Michele often found the endearment “Darling” appropriate for most people. At a very young age, her granddaughter, Emily, began calling Michele “Darling,” and the name stuck. Michele was often known in the Vaughan home as Darling. When her grandson, Bryce, arrived six-years-later, he could not say Darling, so he called her “Dee-Da” which was also a name that she loved.

Michele is survived by her husband, three children, a sister, and two grandchildren who will miss her very much.

Her memorial service was held at Pacific View Mortuary on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Los Angeles.
