Leland Denson Ziegler and Betty Jane (Bicheno) Ziegler age 88 and 87 died within three weeks of each other. Lee died Saturday March 23, 2013 and Betty on Sunday April 14, 2013 both in Newport Beach, CA. They had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Lee was born October 25, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, the sixth child born to the late William Floyd and Olivia (Denson) Ziegler. Lee worked with his father and later started his own wholesale produce business in Los Angeles for over 40 years.

Betty was born May 22, 1925 in Glendale, California, the second child born to the late James and May (Chappell) Bicheno. A half-brother James A. Bicheno, preceded her in death in 2011. Betty taught at Rosemont Middle School in La Crescenta for over twenty years.

Both Lee and Betty attended Los Angeles High school. They were active members of La Crescenta First Baptist Church until they moved to Newport Beach where they became members of Mariners Church.
After Lee died, Betty declined quickly, and died at home from age-related frailties.
They are survived by three children – James, William, & Patricia Delgado (Dennis preceded them in death in 1995), eight grandchildren, & four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00, Crystal Cathedral Memorial Gardens in Garden Grove.
