Muriel M. Weiner passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on July 24th in her home in Newport Beach, with loved ones at her side. Widow of Dr. Aaron H. Weiner, she was well known to many in Indio, California, where she and Dr. Weiner raised their family. She was an active member of the community both in Indio and in Newport Beach. In Indio, she spent many years volunteering her services with local organizations, serving for some time on the board of the Desert Sands Unified School District. After her children were grown, she fulfilled her dream of returning to her education where she earned her Law Degree at Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California. She is survived by her children, Robert, Paul, Mary, Sheila and Philip, as well as eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was a very caring person and a good mother, with a great deal of wisdom and patience, who will be missed by all her family and friends. The family wishes to thank all her wonderful caregivers and the team from St. Joseph’s Hospice. In lieu of flowers, you may consider donations made in her name to St. Joseph’s Hospice of Orange County, the Coachella Valley History Museum or a charity of your choice.
