Carol H. Arrigo September 7, 1935 - September 16, 2013

Carol Hopla Arrigo passed away at the age of 78 on the morning of September 16, 2013.

She was born in Los Angeles on September 7, 1935 in Los Angeles to Delbert and Grace Grinnell Hopla and grew up in the Los Angeles area. She graduated from Pomona College in 1957, marrying her husband of 53 years Vincent Arrigo the same year.

Carol was a well-loved teacher in Newport Unified School District schools for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She and her husband moved to San Juan Island in 1994 and lived in Washington for 15 years, achieving a mutual dream of buying property and building a home in the beautiful Northwest, where their family enjoyed time and holidays together. They returned to Southern California in 2010 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Carol and Vince traveled to some interesting destinations around the world for his job as a yacht broker and owned several boats themselves, being involved in sailing and boating the majority of their lives. She was a kind, gentle, woman devoted to her husband and sons.

Her husband Vincent, who passed away in 2011, predeceases Carol. Son Michael F. Arrigo and his wife Kristen, granddaughters Alena, Isabella and Paloma and son Steven V. Arrigo and his wife Janice, granddaughters Allyson and Lauren survive her.
