Meeting set for input on airport EIRs

John Wayne Airport and the County of Orange have scheduled a meeting to gather public input regarding the environmental impact reports soon to be conducted at the facility, according to a news release.

The "scoping meeting" marks the next step in the process of updating the airport's settlement agreement, which sets limits on annual passenger travel and aircraft takeoffs and landings.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting, which will take place from 6 to 8 p.m . Oct. 17 in the Airport Commission Room at the airport's office building, 3160 Airway Ave. in Costa Mesa.

Airport staff as well as consultants involved in conducting the reports will be present to answer questions and listen to concerns, according to the release.

The meeting follows an official notice issued Oct. 1 that the reports are being conducted. The notice, which includes information about the extent of the project, can be viewed on the John Wayne Airport website.
