Fountain Valley woman dies after collision

A Fountain Valley woman died after being hit by a car about 6 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Reina Guadalupe Solorio, 59, was crossing Heil Avenue near Harbor Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk when a white Honda Pilot hit her. She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and later succumbed to her traumatic injuries, according to a Fountain Valley Police Department news release.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, but an investigation is ongoing. Witnesses are asked to call the Police Department at (714) 593-4484.
