Four Costa Mesa residents were taken to area hospitals after a hit-and-run near South Coast Plaza on Sunday night, police said.
Christian Rangel, 22, was driving north on Bristol Street with Jordan Lawson, 21, Donggi Shin, 20, and Grecia Nunez, 22, in a Chevrolet Malibu when a gray Ford truck heading east on Sunflower Street ran a red light and hit the Malibu, police said.
After the collision, three males wearing dark clothing fled on foot from the truck, according to a news release.
Lawson and Shin were taken to Coastal Community Hospital in Santa Ana and treated for minor cuts. Rangel and Nunez, who was sitting in the front seat, were admitted to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for observation and later released.
Witnesses can contact traffic investigator Darren Wood at (714) 754-5264.
