Police: Man had drugs, handgun in vehicle

Fountain Valley police arrested a Garden Grove man Tuesday after finding more than $11,000 worth of drugs and a handgun in his vehicle, authorities said.

Officers arrested Dong Min, 23, on suspicion of possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of an ounce of marijuana and possession of a firearm, according to a press statement.

The suspect was being held in the West Justice Center in Westminster on $25,000 bail.

Authorities stopped Min at 8:42 p.m. for traffic violations near Ward Street and Slater Avenue.

After talking with the suspect, police believed they saw a small amount of illegal narcotics in the vehicle, according to the statement.

Officers searched the vehicle and found more than a quarter pound of methamphetamine valued at $11,280, about 2 ounces of marijuana valued at $820 and a handgun, authorities said.
