College Roundup: UC Irvine men’s basketball breaks Bren Events Center scoring record

The UC Irvine men’s basketball team defeated Pacific Union 120-63, which set a record for points scored inside of the Anteaters’ home venue of the Bren Events Center in Saturday’s nonconference game.

Evan Leonard scored a team-high 22 points to go with six rebounds and three blocked shots. Tommy Rutherford added 21 points, four rebounds and three assists for UCI (6-5).

Former Los Alamitos High standout Eyassu Worku scored 10 points, becoming the 29th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for their career.
