High School Roundup: Newport Harbor boys’ basketball edges Los Alamitos

Robbie Spooner led the Newport Harbor High boys’ basketball team with 12 points, and the visiting Sailors defeated Los Alamitos 50-48 on Monday night in a Surf League game.

Luke Bashore scored 11 points with four blocked shots for Newport Harbor (21-5, 3-1 in league). Ryan Miller also had 11 points.

Newport Harbor hosts rival Corona del Mar (15-9, 0-3) in the second round of the Battle of the Bay on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
