HUNTINGTON BEACH — Megan Khademi converted a penalty kick in the 74th minute to help the Sailors upset the Chargers in the Sunset League game Thursday.

Jennifer Munoz set up the PK, breaking free in the box before taking a hard foul from the Edison goalkeeper.

Meghan Kay had 17 saves for Newport Harbor (2-1 in league).

SANTA ANA — Senior Jackie Freiberger drove a low free kick 25 yards into the net in the 60th minute to pace the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Thursday at Centennial Park.

Junior Ferny Perez made four saves to record her fifth shutout of the season for the Eagles (8-3-2, 2-0 in league).

Estancia plays host to Saddleback on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — Goalie Lindsey Luke recorded seven saves for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Thursday.

CdM (8-2-4, 2-0-1 in league) had 12 shots on goal during regulation. The PCL does not play overtime.

Costa Mesa 60, Saddleback 40

COSTA MESA — Annie Sturm scored a career-high 31 points to go with 14 rebounds for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Thursday.

Marilyn Armstrong added 10 points and five steals for Costa Mesa (7-11, 2-0 in league).

Estancia 56, Godinez 31

SANTA ANA — Kassie Stratton scored 13 of her 20 points in the second half to lead the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Thursday.

Celia Duran added 14 points for Estancia (12-6, 2-0 in league), which outscored the defending league champions, 37-15, in the second half.

Brenda Soto scored nine points, Jenny Boldizar had six points and Vanessa Stafford provided standout defense for the Eagles.

Edison 73, Newport Harbor 42

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Kasey Thompson scored 24 points to lead the Sailors in the Sunset League game Thursday.

Alex Morton had 10 points for Newport Harbor (10-8, 1-2, in league).

WRESTLING

Newport Harbor 58, Huntington Beach 15

NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Jonathan Munoz, a 119-pounder, and 160-pound junior Brandon Hayden moved to up varsity and won their respective matches by pin in a Sunset League dual meet Thursday.

Ryan Cerrato moved up to 189 and won his match by pin for Newport Harbor (10-4, 1-1 in league).

The Sailors are at the Saddleback Tournament Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
