Costa Mesa 66, Calvary Chapel 52

SANTA ANA — Senior Andrew Albers had 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the visiting Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

The win clinched a CIF Southern Section playoff berth for Costa Mesa (11-14, 5-4 in league), which will play host to cross-town rival Estancia on Thursday for a chance to tie the Eagles for second.

Nick Dawson (12 points), Matt Dimson (11) and Marcus Hayes (eight points and six assists) also chipped in for Mesa.

Estancia 48, Saddleback 39

SANTA ANA — Ray Holmes scored 19 points to lead the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

Rashad Davis had 13 points for Estancia (15-11, 6-3 in league), which plays at rival Costa Mesa Thursday at 7 p.m. to close out the regular season.

Newport Harbor 69, Fountain Valley 65

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Cody Caldwell scored 32 points, which tied a season high, and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Tuesday.

Senior Carter Fortier scored a career-high 23 points for Newport Harbor (9-15, 1-8 in league).

The Saillors play at Huntington Beach Thursday at 7 p.m.

St. Margaret’s 50, Sage Hill 41

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Senior guard Mark Loper finished with 21 points in the Lightning’s Academy League game on Tuesday.

Ford Hanour contributed five points and seven rebounds for Sage Hill (14-10, 2-7 in league).

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Corona del Mar 3, Beckman 1

CORONA DEL MAR — Juniors Ally Brahs and Scarlett Acuna, as well as sophomore Monica Venturini scored for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League finale Tuesday.

Senior Kaylee O’Connor had an assist, as did sophomores Maddie O’Connor and Alexa Mamatas.

Senior Goalie Lindsey Luke had four saves for CdM (14-3-4, 8-1-1 in league), the PCL champion that is ranked No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

The Sea Kings begin the postseason next week.

CIF playoff pairings will be released Monday.

Fountain Valley 2, Newport Harbor 1

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Shannon Boler scored for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Tuesday.

Newport Harbor (6-11-3, 5-4 in league) completes league play Thursday, when it plays host to Huntington Beach at 5:15 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Marilyn Armstrong had 15 points to lead the host Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Monday.

Nancy Aguilar had 12 points, while Annie Sturm had nine points and six rebounds for the winners (12-13, 7-2 in league).

The Mustangs will play host to cross-town rival Estancia tonight at 7.

Newport Harbor 41, Fountain Valley 37

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Alex Morton recorded 15 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in the Sailors’ Sunset League game Tuesday night.

Kasey Thompson finished with eight points and 12 rebounds for Newport Harbor (11-14, 2-7 in league).

Mandy Legault contributed seven points and seven rebounds, and Lexi Kunkle had eight points.

Mimi Gibson had three steals and three points for Newport.

The Sailors play their regular-season finale Thursday at home against Huntington Beach at 7 p.m.
