Orange Coast 7, Canyons 3

COSTA MESA — Sophomore Ryan Doran threw a complete game, sophomore Kevin Cho had three hits and sophomore Zach Chavez drove in three runs in the nonconference game to help the host Pirates improve to 14-0.

OCC trailed, 3-0, in the fifth inning, but scored three in the fifth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh to back Doran, who allowed seven hits and two earned runs. Doran did not walk a batter and struck out two.

Freshman Trent Woodward doubled in the go-ahead run in the sixth. He was two for two with two walks.

Colton Hammill also had two hits for the winners, for whom Chris Carlson, Matt Moynihan and Jordan Beck each had one RBI.

Canyons is 5-4.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UC Irvine 69, Pacific 58

STOCKTON — Sophomore Tayler Champion scored a game-high 19 points and senior Jade Smith-Williams added 18 for the Anteaters in the Big West Conference game Thursday.

Champion, who came off the bench, matched her career-high with five three-pointers, while senior Kim Barnes had a season-high 11 points. Junior Kassandra McAllister recorded a career- and game-high 10 rebounds to go with nine points and sophomore Jazmyne White also had nine points for UCI (15-11, 7-7 in conference).

Pacific is 7-20, 4-8.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Orange Coast 8, Cypress 1

COSTA MESA — Anna Walinowicz, Hannah Mancino and Remi Sutton won in singles and doubles to pace the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference home match Thursday.

Walinowicz and Mancino won at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, respectively, and teamed to top their No. 2 doubles opponent.

Sutton won at No. 6 singles and at No. 3 doubles for OCC (3-3, 1-1 in conference).
