SAN BERNARDINO — Freshman Karlee Riggs had 11 kills to lead the Pirates to a 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 nonconference win Tuesday.

Freshman Amy Hartwell had six digs, freshman Morgan Link had five blocks and freshman Allison Lumsden added 26 assists for OCC.

San Bernardino dropped to 1-3.

The Pirates play at Southwestern Thursday.

COSTA MESA — Kyle O’Brien had a goal and an assist to pace the host Lions in the nonconference game Tuesday.

William Pellow added a goal for the winners (4-3), who needed just three saves from Cody Adams to record the shutout.

MISSION VIEJO — Emma Pridmore and Jessica Amaral scored for the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference opener on Tuesday.

Katelyn I’Banion had two saves for OCC (3-0-1).

Saddleback fell to 0-5-1.

Fresno invitational

FRESNO — Megan Foley finished third to lead Orange Coast College to a second-place team finish Friday at Woodward Park.

Foley finished the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 45 seconds.

Carmille Garcia (fifth in 19:07) and Chesea Clifford (sixth in 19:13) also stood out for the Pirates, who had 63 points, 41 behind victorious Glendale.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Fresno invitational

FRESNO — Hugo Gutierrez finished 11th to lead Orange Coast College to a third-place team finish Friday at Woodward Park.

Gutierrez finished the four-mile course in 21 minutes, 39 seconds.

Zackary Ellis (14th in 21:48), Matt Bottomley (21st in 21:57) also stood out for OCC.

The Pirates posted 95 points, which trailed American River (28) and Glendale (61).
