Local baseball programs to open Newport Elks Tournament

Four Newport-Mesa high baseball programs are competing in the five-day Newport Elks Tournament, which opens Thursday.

Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor are in the Foothill Division, while Estancia is in the Costa Mesa Division and Costa Mesa in the OC Division.

The Sea Kings, which won the Foothill Division two years ago, open at home against Chino Ayala (2-0) at 3 p.m.

The Sailors are at Ocean View (0-2) at 3 p.m. Newport Harbor claimed the Foothill Division title three years ago.

The Eagles play at Orange (2-0) at 3 p.m.

The Mustangs are at Garden Grove at 3 p.m.
