CdM seventh-graders capture title
The Corona del Mar seventh-grade boys’ basketball team dominated the competition in the Coastal Athletic League to go 6-0 during the regular season.
The team used a smothering full-court press and explosive fast-break offense to win by an average of 37 points.
During the playoffs, CdM beat Harbor Day, 63-11, in the semifinals and then defeated Sowers in the finals, 50-31.
CdM was led by the powerful inside game of Tae Le, while Ben Coffman, Preston Hartsell, Kevin Kobrine and JT Schwartz played key roles.
Strong contributions were also made by Jack Bendetti, Morgan Cortens, Jack Fairon, Brandon Hicks, Jacob Humbert and Patrick Paragas.
