Pair arrested in Laguna Beach home burglary

Two Anaheim residents were arrested in connection with a Laguna Beach home burglary this month.

A Laguna Beach resident called police Sept. 1 after finding two people in his house in the 30000 block of Driftwood Drive, police said.

As officers arrived, the intruders got into a Hyundai sedan and crashed into the homeowner’s vehicle as they fled, according to police.

Laguna Beach detectives, Anaheim police officers and state parole agents arrested the two in Anaheim on Sept. 6.

Zachary Morales, 26, who was recently released from state prison in connection with a previous burglary charge, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, identity theft, possession of a controlled substance and check fraud, police said.

He was booked into Orange County Jail without bail.

Tiffanie Moreland, 23, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and possession of stolen property. She was booked into jail with bail set at $50,000, according to police.
