Cassolato homers twice for UCI

RIVERSIDE — Senior Evan Cassolato homered twice and was three for five with three RBIs to lead the visiting Anteaters in the Big West Conference game Friday.

Cassolato entered the game with one home run this season.

Adam Alcantara was three for five with four RBIs for UCI (20-30, 7-12 in conference), which lashed 19 hits against the last-place Highlanders (19-29, 5-14).

Keston Hiura stole two bases and joined teammates Ryan Fitzpatrick, Parker Coss and Alex Guenette as those who had two hits and one RBI for the winners.

Adrian Damla also had two hits and Mikey Duarte drove in a run for UCI, for whom Louis Raymond allowed two runs on nine hits in seven innings to improve to 4-5.

The series continues Saturday at 6 p.m.
