Breakdown: The Barons (3-1) hit the road for their final nonleague game of the season, traveling to Artesia (2-1) … Fountain Valley has a bye next week and then opens Sunset League play Oct. 6 against Marina at Huntington Beach High … Second-year coach Jimmy Nolan’s Barons are 3-1 for the first time since 2014 and also ranked this week, at No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division 6 … Fountain Valley is coming off a 28-14 win over Foothill, while Artesia won its first two games before suffering a 47-7 home loss against Gahr last week … Artesia is a Division 12 school and led by first-year head coach Don Olmstead, in his sixth overall season with the program … Artesia has not made the CIF playoffs since 2008.
