Estancia girls’ volleyball battles back, but falls short against Godinez

Freshman setter Louise Chupeau had a career-best 23 assists to go with six service aces on Wednesday, but the Estancia High girls’ volleyball team fell to the Godinez, 29-27, 25-12, 21-25, 25-21 in an Orange Coast League girls’ volleyball match.

It was a key match in the league standings, as both teams came into the match 1-3 records in Orange Coast League action. In suffering defeat, Estancia (7-7, 1-4) remains two games behind third-place Santa Ana Calvary Chapel (10-9, 3-2), which lost to Laguna Beach (9-5, 5-0).

Madison Murray led the Eagles with 11 kills. Sarah Graham added eight kills, and Taylor Sweet and Alex Jimenez had four kills apiece.
