Key Huskies: Jr. RB/MLB Walter Carl III (42 carries for 254 yards, one TD); Sr. QB James Linn (15 of 26 passing for 238 yards, two TDs, one INT); Jr. QB Brayden Fawcett (13 of 24 passing for 151 yards, two TDs, one INT).
Breakdown: Friday night’s game is Newport Harbor’s first at renovated Davidson Field … A reopening ceremony is planned for 5 p.m., two hours before kickoff … Newport Harbor (0-1) lost on the road to Pacifica, 33-7, last week in its season opener … The Sailors dropped from the No. 2 to No. 5 ranking in CIF Southern Section Division 6 after the loss … Chino Hills (2-0) is unranked in Division 2 but has opened the season with two close victories, a 24-21 win at cross-town rival Ayala and a 30-23 win over Diamond Ranch last week in overtime … The Huskies rallied from a 23-7 fourth-quarter deficit to beat Diamond Ranch … Linn and Fawcett have shared quarterback duties in the first two games for Chino Hills, and coach Chris Stevens told the Daily Bulletin before the season that he expects to use both at the position all season.
