If you saw a group of sled dogs and their master mushing through Fairview Park last week, you might’ve stopped in your tracks wondering what the heck was going on. It was just Bruce Stegmaier working out his sled dog team. The park is used for many things, sled dog training being one of them. Staff photographer Scott Smeltzer lined up a great shot showing the whole team, with the lead dogs bouncing along, and it looks like they are having a great time. Because sled dogging is a winter recreation and snow sport, it’s not often we get to see these husky breeds running around in warm weather in Southern California. It was a good photo-op.
