Topping featured at Studio Arts Gallery

Glass artist Melody Topping’s kiln castings will be displayed at Studio Arts Gallery in “Ocean’s Edge,” a surf-inspired glass work show. A reception for Topping will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 7 in conjunction with First Thursday’s Art Walk.

Topping received first place in Fusing/Kilnworked Glass at Pacific Art Glass for “Majestic Wave” in 2009 as well as first place and the People’s Choice Award in Fusing/Kilnworked Glass at the 2010 Las Vegas Glass Craft and Bead Expo for “Golden Winter,” according to a statement from Studio Arts.

Her work is in the permanent collection of the German Parliament, and “The War of Human Rights,” was exhibited by the United Nations World Conference in Vienna, according to Studio Arts.

A 12-foot mural, painted in Laguna, is now touring nationally for the Art Miles Mural Project prior to being dedicated to the Manhattan Memorial Museum at the New York City 9/11 tribute in September.
