Marine Protected Areas Forum

The Surfrider Foundation and Reef Check California are hosting a forum about the new marine protected areas in Southern California that will go into effect Jan. 1. There will be several MPAs off the Laguna Beach coastline. The forum is from 7 to 8 p.m. at the OC Sailing & Events Center, 34451 Ensenada Place, Dana Point.

Community Chorus Concert

The Laguna Beach Community Chorus presents “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like … LagunaTunes” at 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 428 Park. Ave. The show is free. For more information, call (949) 637-3140.

Lighting the Pepper Tree

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce hosts Hospitality Night from 5 to 9 p.m. A bell choir and community sing-a-long kick off the event. Attendees can also browse a craft bazaar and open house at the Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Ave. Santa arrives at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave., to light the pepper tree. Finish off the evening with a screening of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at 9:15 p.m. at South Coast Theatre, 162 S. Coast Hwy.

Christmas Boutique

The Assistance League of Laguna Beach hosts its annual Christmas Boutique from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Behind Thrift Shop, 526 Glenneyre St., Laguna Beach.

Nativity Displays

Nativity scene displays will be open to the public from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 685 Park Ave. Refreshments will be served.

Tree Lighting at Crystal Cove

The public is invited to the 15th annual tree-lighting ceremony at Crystal Cove. The event includes a holiday bazaar, a visit from Santa Claus and hot beverages from the Beachcomber Café.

Holiday Wine Tasting

The Glennwood House of Laguna is hosting a holiday wine tasting fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. at the house, 2130 S. Coast Hwy. Cost is $25 at the door. The Organic Cellar will provide the wine and will donate 15% of its proceeds to Glennwood House.

Holiday Concert

Laguna Presbyterian Church’s Chancel and Bell Choirs hosts a candlelight concert featuring Christmas music at 5 p.m. Admission is free. The church is at 415 Forest Ave.

‘A Holiday Memory’

The Woman’s Club hosts “A Holiday Memory” from 7 to 9 p.m. at the club, 286 St. Ann’s Drive. Tickets are $60 and include appetizers, wine and champagne, and dessert. RSVP to PJ Gerrard at (949) 497-9483.

Garden Club Meeting

The next Laguna Beach Garden Club meeting will feature author, landscape designer and Horticulture magazine contributing editor Rebecca Sweet. Laguna Beach Seniors Luncheon

Laguna Beach Seniors Celebrate the holidays with their annual luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tivoli Terrace with a traditional turkey feast fir $30 per person.
