Boutique Benefit Drop-Off

Drop off your items for the sixth annual Boutique Benefit from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Laguna Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Ave. New and gently used clothing will be for sale at the May 5 event, with proceeds benefiting the Laguna Relief & Resource Center, Women for Women International and Friendship Shelter.

‘A Home of Their Own’

The Glennwood House of Laguna Beach is holding its second annual Art Auction from 2 to 5 p.m. at the facility, 2130 S. Coast Hwy. Proceeds will benefit the Glennwood House, which will open by the end of this year. Appetizers will be provided.

League of Women Voters Meeting

The annual meeting of the League of Women Voters in Orange County begins at 9:30 a.m. at Laguna Woods Village, 24112 Moulton Pkwy. The topic is the newly revised California tax initiative, and Courage Campaign founder Rick Jacobs will be the guest speaker at noon. The cost is $22 for the full meeting and lunch; $17 for lunch and the speaker only; or $5 just for the speaker.

Environmentalist Margaret Henke will speak at a town hall meeting called “The Greening of Our Society” at 9 a.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church, 429 Cypress Drive.

The Laguna Beach Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its annual awards program for students in fifth through 12th grades at 3:30 p.m. at the Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave. The awards honor outstanding American history students and those who show good citizenship.
