Little Patriots Take a Hike

The Environmental Nature Center of Newport Beach hosts a pre-Fourth of July hike for children ages 3 to 5, where they will go looking for things in nature colored red, white or blue. The hike is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the ENC, 1601 16th St. Cost is $6 for non-members and $5 for members. Parkinson's Fitness Class

'The Taming of the Shrew'

The American Coast Theater Co. presents its production of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," at Vanguard University's Lyceum Theater, 55 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Michael Gallagher Exhibit

'Jack Goldstein X 10,000'

The Orange County Museum of Art presents its "Jack Goldstein X 10,000" show. Fourth of July Boat Parade

Bike Parade and Community Festival

The city of Newport Beach presents its second annual Newport Peninsula Bike Parade and Community Festival at 9 a.m. on Balboa Boulevard and the 38th Street Park.

Independence Day Family Celebration

The city of Newport Beach and Mariners Elementary School are co-hosting the 40th annual Independence Day Family Celebration at Mariners Park, 1300 Irvine Ave. The event kicks off with a bike parade at 10:30 a.m.

Fourth of July Brunch

Free Corkage Thursdays
