Pet of The Week

When you hear the name Rocko, you expect a scrappy rough-and-tumble sort of dog. However, this shy and gentle little guy is nothing like that.

Rocko is a 2-year-old terrier mix, with upright ears and a distinctive set of whiskers. He arrived at the shelter last month with his friend Boomer, who was recently adopted.

Although he must be lonely, Rocko does not bark or “act out” in his kennel. He enjoys going for walks and is well-behaved on leash. His coat would benefit from grooming and he needs some minor dental work, but Rocko is generally healthy. Once neutered, he will be ready for adoption — wanting to avoid the common plight of black dogs who go unnoticed in shelters.
