Ocean View High graduate Daycie McCafferty used a quote from the late basketball star Kobe Bryant during her speech at the school’s graduation ceremony Wednesday.

“Dedication sees dreams come true,” said McCafferty, the school’s senior class president. McCafferty saw this Class of 2022 as very dedicated, having spent the majority of their high school tenure during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We have seen each other through screens, masks and now finally, I am able to see all of the beautiful faces I walked into Ocean View with that first day of school,” she said.
