WEATHER FORECAST

There may be storms aplenty in the forecast for the Northeast, but in

Newport-Mesa the worst we’ll see today is a couple of clouds. Expect a

fairly clear and sunny morning, with the clouds creeping in around 2 p.m.

The high of the day will be 68 and the low will be 47. Isn’t it great to

live in Southern California?

BOATING FORECAST

Close to shore, morning light winds will change, blowing at 10 knots

coming from the northwest in the afternoon. Expect wind waves of 1 foot

and a western swell of 4 to 6 feet.

Further out, however, it’s a different story. A small craft advisory

has been issued for hazardous seas. The morning will find winds coming

from the northwest at 10 to 15 knots, kicking up waves of 2 feet. A

northwestern swell of 10 feet is predicted.

SURF

Them’s the breaks. A very high tide in the 8 o’clock hour is gonna

hurt morning surf. And afternoon doesn’t look much more promising as the

waves start going bye bye.
