Sawdust Chamber Mixer
The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly mixer at
the Sawdust Festival. Pappou’s Greek Island Grille will provide a food
buffet and there will be a raffle featuring prizes from Sawdust artists.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 935 Laguna Canyon

Laguna Beach Public Library
The library will host a special Peace Corps information presentation.

FRIDAY
Class of 1972
The Laguna Beach High School class of 1972 will kick off its 30th
reunion with a no-host alumni and faculty meeting from 7 to 10 p.m. July
12 at the Sandpiper, 1183 South Coast Highway. The reunion will take
place from 6 to 11:30 p.m. July 13 at the Hotel Laguna, 425 South Coast
Highway. The final event, a family picnic for the classes of ‘71, ’72 and
‘73, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. July 14 at the home of Libby

SATURDAY
South Coast YMCA
The South Coast YMCA will host an AFAA Senior Fitness workshop for
fitness instructors. This one-day program will cover the essentials of
designing and teaching a safe and enjoyable fitness class for seniors.
Students will gain a basic understanding of the aging process and the
special considerations that are necessary in developing safe and
effective exercise programs for the mature adult population -- both
healthy and frail. The class will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July

The South Coast YMCA will start a new program that will help students
learn how to control weight, make better food choices and enjoy a healthy
and low-fat lifestyle. The eight-week class will start at 6 p.m. July 29

South Coast YMCA
The Marian Bergeson Center and South Coast YMCA will offer a beginning
fundamentals basketball camp for second- and third-graders from 9 to 10
a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and for fourth- and fifth-graders from 9
to 10 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The camps will begin on August 5.

The South Coast YMCA will offer a new class that addresses functional
strength, balance and stability for seniors. Led by a certified senior

The SilverSneakers Fitness classes are an ongoing series of classes
designed for strengthening and conditioning. The self-paced classes are
taught by certified instructors who guide participants through exercises

trained YMCA fitness instructor using skinfold and girth measurements.
