WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board awarded contracts totaling $4,155,360 for the

fall construction package at Top of the World Elementary School.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The bidders approved by the board are USS Cal Builders, Zeen

Plumbing, LA Air Conditioning and Dennison Electric. The bids are

$436,916 less than the estimated bond budget allocation. The amount

will be transferred to the Laguna Beach United School District

Contingency Fund to increase reserves.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board assigned prime work contracts for Top of the

World Elementary School to McCarthy Building Companies.

WHAT IT MEANS:

In keeping with the construction management services agreement

between the district and McCarthy Building Companies, the district

assigned certain duties and responsibilities to McCarthy.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board awarded contracts totaling $8,153,975 for the

fall construction package at Thurston Middle School.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The bidders approved by the board are USS Cal Builders, Zeen

Plumbing, LA Air Conditioning and Dennison Electric. The bids are

$12,297 more than the estimated bond budget allocation. The amount

will be covered by funds from the Laguna Beach United School District

Contingency Fund.
