DARE program receives grant

The Laguna Beach Police Department’s Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (DARE) program received a $10,000 grant from The Wilbur May Foundation.

The grant was awarded by Anita May Rosenstein, who according to Capt. Danell Adams has given to the program for more than a decade.

“They’ve just been part of this department for many years. Anita’s always been hugely generous,” Adams said.

The DARE drug and alcohol prevention program is a part of Laguna Beach Unified School District’s curriculum.

Adams said the grant will be used to purchase things like reading and writing materials for the children as well as things like T-shirts and special events.
