Prostitution suspect a minor

A 17-year-old San Diego girl was arrested Sept. 6 after offering to have sex with four men at a local hotel in exchange for $1,000, Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

Lenyi said complaints about a prostitute frequenting local hotels had been brought to the Laguna Beach Police Department, and officers posing as “johns,” or customers, contacted the suspect.

She was arrested after she agreed to have sex for money, police said. Police were surprised at her age.

“We thought she was older,” Lenyi said.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was released to her mother. She faces misdemeanor solicitation charges, Lenyi said.
