Realtors to disburse funds

The Laguna Board of Realtors and Affiliates Charitable Assistance Fund will review written applications in early November to determine which local community groups will receive donations from 2008 fundraising events.

The groups sponsor three fundraising events: the Only In Laguna Fashion Show in March, A Taste For Charity and Silent Art Auction in May and the Pet Parade and Chili Cook-off in September.

Proceeds are donated to local nonprofits that generally are smaller in size, serve local needs and do not already have large funding sources. Scholarships are also awarded to qualifying Laguna Beach High School students.

Thousands of dollars are raised and many nonprofits have benefited over the years.


Groups must be a registered 501c3 nonprofit and a questionnaire will be supplied to the group representatives. Prior recipients are allowed to reapply.

The deadline for written applications is Nov. 2. Letters will be sent to all applicants in December notifying them of selection committee’s decisions.
