Area 1

Broadway: Police have video of a man wearing black clothing and a nose ring, who is suspected of spray painting “The rich should die” in the bathroom at Whole Foods Market at 5:32 p.m. Jan. 6.

High Drive: A 97-year-old woman met police outside her home in leopard-print pajamas, when they responded to her call about someone possibly in her garage at 11:37 p.m. Jan. 6.

Wave Street: A man from Fullerton and a man from Santa Ana were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs in the 200 block and taken to Orange County Jail at 11:23 a.m. Jan. 7.

Louise Street: Damage was estimated at $400 each to two parked vehicles whose back windows were smashed in the 1600 block at 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Northern city limit: Newport Beach police gave the Laguna department a heads-up in time for officers to lay spikes at the northern boundary of the city, which stopped a speeding vehicle driven by a woman that Newport Beach officers were chasing. She was taken into custody after the stop at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday.

Area 2

Laguna Canyon Road: An outbound driver was distracted and rear-ended the vehicle in front of her in the 20400 block at 8:21 a.m. Jan. 7.

Hill Street: Police broke up a disturbance between a couple in the 400 block at 11:55 p.m. Jan. 7.

Laguna Canyon Road: A Mission Viejo man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 2300 block at 1:13 a.m. Jan. 9.

Area 3

Ocean Avenue: A man was arrested for being drunk in public with two buddies in the Wells Fargo parking lot and taken to the city jail to sober up at 12:24 p.m. Jan. 8.

South Coast Highway at Oak Street: A Sheriff’s Department chase of a burglary suspect from Dana Point ended when the suspect crashed, injuring an elderly woman, and fled on foot, but was found hiding in a nearby garage and taken into custody by deputies at 10:57 a.m. Jan. 8.

Area 4

Summit Road: A resident complained to police about all-night construction noise, and police gave a verbal warning to the occupant of the allegedly noisy home in the 31600 block at 5:45 a.m. Jan. 7.

South Coast Highway: A rear window was broken on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Capri Laguna in the 1400 block at 8:49 a.m. Jan. 7.

Van Dyke Drive: A woman reported that someone entered her storage area in the 1000 block while she was away and stole some items at 1:23 p.m. Jan. 7.

South Coast Highway: A Dana Point man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 1500 block and taken to the city jail to sober up at 12:44 a.m. Jan. 8.

Temple Hills Drive: A Laguna Beach resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 1300 block at 2:23 a.m. Jan. 8.

South Coast Highway: Police stopped a car for speeding in the 200 block of St. Anns Drive and took three juveniles to police headquarters for pickup by their parents at 1:42 a.m. Monday.

Sommet du Monde: An illegally parked crane was given until noon to move from its parking site, which had prevented a fire engine from responding to a call at 9:45 a.m. Monday.

Alta Laguna Boulevard: A woman asked for additional police patrols after finding fireworks near Carolyn’s Knoll where she said kids were drinking, smoking and shooting off fireworks at 10:22 a.m. Monday.

Ruby Street: A Laguna Niguel man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 100 block at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Area 5

Coast Highway at Second Avenue: A naked woman running and hiding behind cars was cited and released at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 7.

Three Arch Bay: Police found an 82-year-old woman and her dog safe when they responded to a call for help by the woman’s husband. She had climbed down a steep embankment to comfort the family dog that had fallen down the hill at 11:27 a.m. Jan. 8.

Coast Highway: A Laguna Beach resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he hit a pole in the 31800 block and checked himself in at the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach at 10:43 p.m. Monday.

Coast Highway at Wesley Drive: Police tried to reset the traffic signals, which were not operating due a power failure in the area and called Caltrans at 7:36 a.m. Tuesday.

El Toro Road: A bobcat was reportedly walking toward Stater Bros. market in Laguna Woods, which Laguna’s Animal Services covers, at 5:34 p.m. Jan 7.
