Huntington Beach is unveiling a new shuttle program Saturday to help residents and visitors get downtown on the weekends.

The Surf City Downtown Shuttle is a free service that will take residents downtown in a “classic woody-style” vehicle during the city’s busiest days of the year.

The shuttle will run in a continuous loop from City Hall, 2000 Main St., to the Strand on Fifth Street and to the northwest corner of Main Street and Orange Avenue. Residents can park for free at the Civic Center.

The shuttle will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 5, including Memorial and Labor days.

This is a pilot program, and city officials will determine whether to continue it.
