Laura Gallio Guerra passed away in her home surrounded by her children along with family and friends after a short battle with cancer.

She was an adored mother and friend to all, known for her delightful personality, love of nature and kindness to everyone she met.

Laura was fluent in Spanish, Italian and French and was a world traveler. A lyrical temperament and scientific understanding of sea creatures, plants and insects combined to make her fun and interesting. She had a magical way of making your troubles disappear and making you laugh.

She was fond of international music, and sang and danced. Laura was the 2009 president of the Orange County Succulent Society, and enjoyed creating miniature gardens and firing small clay art pieces. Known to never utter a cross or unkind word but rather to lift the spirits of those around her, she was an example to all who knew her to see the good in everyone.

Family and friends grieve what seems to be an angel taken back to heaven too soon. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by daughter Tanya and sons Nicholas and Vincent Guerra, brother Frankie Guerra and ex-husband Carlos Guerra.

There will be a mass at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the children can be sent to Laura Guerra c/o 32369 Saddle Mountain Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91361.
