Jane McClanahan Mariscal

Share

Jane passed away after a long battle with cancer at her home on Balboa Island with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Harold and Marjorie McClanahan of Los Angeles. Jane spent her early years in the Los Feliz area during an idyllic time. She graduated from Marlborough School and attended the University of Arizona where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. While there, she met Dan Mariscal with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. After their wedding they moved to Colorado Springs while Dan completed his tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force. Jane and Dan then settled in Sherman Oaks where Dan began his career with Hirsch Pipe and Supply. Jane devoted herself completely to raising her two children, Susan and Greg. Her favorite family memories were their ski trips and summers spent on Balboa Island.

In 2000, Jane and Dan moved to Balboa Island to be near the ocean which Jane loved. She took particular delight in various maritime events sponsored by the Balboa Yacht Club and boating on the California coast. She and Dan also treasured their annual journeys to exotic lands.

Jane is survived by her husband Daniel J. Mariscal, daughter Susan M. Glockner (husband Bill and children, Katie and Will), and son Greg Mariscal (wife Lucinda and children, Alyssa and Henry), and sister, Mary Riccard. The Mariscals would like to thank their family and dear friends who provided such loving support during this difficult time. We will always remember Jane for her vibrant and energetic spirit.
