Checkpoint nets 1 arrest, 10 citations
COSTA MESA — Police arrested one driver and cited 10 others at a DUI checkpoint Wednesday night on Placentia Avenue.
More than 500 cars passed through the stop, with police screening 330 drivers for possibly driving drunk or not having a valid license.
Officers conducted two field sobriety tests but arrested only one driver. Seven vehicles were towed.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
