Coby Ward

Coby Ward, longtime Newport Beach Realtor, died April 20, 2011. Born Virginia Ann Colburn, August 7, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI, she felt her nickname Coby was memorable and enhanced her success. She attended William & Mary College, married Arthur Ward in April, 1942, then raised a family in Casa Grande, AZ. An active Republican Party volunteer, she was also president of many organizations such as PTA, the country club, and Community Concerts. In 1966 the family moved to Newport Beach where she knew she found paradise. Always passionate about Newport Beach and all things from Wisconsin, she still loved to travel, especially to England. She is survived by her brother George Colburn, her four children Debbie Williams, Vickie Lewis, Steve Ward and Valerie Barker, along with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions be made in her name to the Newport Beach Public Library.
